There’s less than a week to go before the summer swim season kicks off with Time Trials on Saturday! We hope to see everyone there. If you’re new to the team, this is a fun meet at Pinecrest for just our team so all our swimmers can establish early-season times and get comfortable with meet procedures before the regular season begins.

🕗 TIME TRIALS – Saturday, June 13

📣 Make sure your swimmer is declared so we know they’re participating! On the Swim Meet Declarations page of the website, click on “Meet Entry” to declare whether your swimmer is available for Time Trials.

Please also sign up for a volunteer shift! While volunteer points are not earned at Time Trials, participation is required from all families and it’s a great opportunity to try out and learn a new role. Questions? Contact Paul and Abbie Shlesinger at [email protected].

Time Trials Timeline:

• 6:30am – Set-up volunteers arrive
• 7:00am – Swimmers arrive for warm-ups
• 7:30am – All volunteers check in
• 7:45am – Mandatory parent meeting in the parking lot
• 8:00am – Time Trials begins (Order: Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly)
• ~11:00am – Time Trials ends (Take-down volunteers must check in with team reps or the Volunteer Coordinator before leaving)

A few notes:

• Pee-Wees are not eligible to participate in Time Trials.
• Most 8 & Unders will swim only Freestyle and Backstroke.
• Swimmers must be able to legally swim Breaststroke and Butterfly to participate in those events (approved by Coach Kevin and Coach Ashlyn).
• Spectators should sit on the diving board side of the pool (under the large blue umbrellas).
• While you’re signing up for Time Trials, get a head start on our upcoming meets. Declare now to let us know if your swimmer(s) will be available for each upcoming Saturday meet.

🏊 AFTERNOON PRACTICES

All swimmers are welcome to attend the remaining afternoon practices—no sign-ups required. Just arrive for your age group’s scheduled time.

🍧 POPSICLES WITH PINECREST – Friday, June 12 | 7pm-8pm

Join us poolside after practices to mingle with Piranha families, coaches, and reps. New families are especially encouraged to attend to meet other families and ask questions.

🌺 PEP RALLY – Welcome Back Luau BBQ! – Friday, June 19 | 6pm-8pm

Get a jump start on our first Pep Rally. Sign up for the potluck and RSVP early so we can get a headcount. Don’t forget to dress in your tropical best. All swim and dive families are welcome!

⛺ EARLY CAMP PRACTICES

Are there certain weeks when your swimmers will have to miss practice because of summer camp? Sign up for our early camp practices, held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 7:00am-8:00am, beginning June 22 and ending July 17. Please note you must commit to early morning practice for the entire week (swimmers registered for camp practices will not be permitted to attend regular practice sessions during that same week). Also, camp practices are not intended to be used every week in place of regular practices, and Pee-Wees are not eligible.

👕 TEAM GEAR

• Team T-shirts, swim caps, water bottles (for new team members), and swimsuits (if ordered) will be available Friday afternoon during practice or Saturday morning at Time Trials.
• Team suits can be ordered online or in person at Metro Swim Shop (we highly recommend getting fitted). Team suits are not required.
• Show your Piranhas pride with Pinecrest spiritwear from our SwimOutlet store (personalized items take up to 3 weeks to ship).

✅ NVSL CLINICS – Sunday, June 14 & Wednesday, June 17

There are still two more opportunities to attend NVSL training for new and returning Referees, Starters, and Stroke & Turn Judges on Sunday 6/14 and Wednesday 6/17. Remember, we can’t hold our meets without our parent volunteers! Find location details on the full training clinic schedule.

We will switch to our summer morning schedule starting Thursday, June 18.
