Herndon B Meet Morphs into Intrasquad Match

Weather was not on our side for our first B meet of the season, but we held an impromptu intramural meet Tuesday morning. A huge thanks to everyone who helped make that possible!

Divers Shine @ Highland Park

While we were outnumbered last week, our small but mighty dive team had an impressive showing. Our freshman divers took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. We had divers compete up in age groups, tackle new dives, and take 1st and 2nd places in their categories. We are so proud of their efforts and are excited for our next meet on Tuesday!

Orange Hunt Outlasts Pinecrest

Saturday’s A meet was another tough matchup, with a final score of 178–242. But spirits stayed high and our swimmers gave it everything they had, ending on a high note with plenty of raucous relays!

🗓 Looking Ahead – Schedule This Week

Swim Clinic Hosted by Reid Owen of the Potomac Marlins | Mon-Thurs 1pm-2pm

If your swimmer is legal in all four strokes and is looking for an incredible opportunity to advance his/her skills, reach out to Coach Reid at [email protected] about enrolling in his clinic, hosted this week at Pinecrest. The cost is only $75 for the week and there is still room for a few more!

Monday – B Meet (Away vs. Fox Mill Estates)

Join us on deck for a fun and tasty (seriously, the food there is always amazing) meet to kick off the week!

Tuesday – Dive Meet (Away @ Cardinal Hill)

Meet starts at 6:00pm. Divers should arrive by 5:00pm for warm-ups. Additional details will be communicated by our dive rep.

Wednesday – Annual Bagel Run 🥯

• RSVP here to let us know if you’re coming!
• All swim and dive Piranhas are invited to meet us in the Pinecrest parking lot at 8:00am for one of our favorite summer traditions! We’ll jog to Bobby’s Bagels, enjoy breakfast together, and then trek back to the pool for organized fun time in place of regular morning practice.
• Crazy dress is strongly encouraged, so break out the costumes, wacky socks, sunglasses, hats, tutus, or whatever fun gear you can dream up!
• All 10 & Under athletes must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
• Families are strongly encouraged to order ahead to help things run smoothly. Parent volunteers to assist with traffic management and chaperoning are greatly appreciated!
• Please note that Pee-Wees will still practice at their normal scheduled time.

Thursday – Regular Practices & Clinic

Friday – Red, White & Blue Pep Rally 🇺🇸 

• Get decked out in your red, white, and blue and RSVP to let us know what you’ll be bringing to our BBQ/family favorites potluck!

Saturday – A Meet (Away vs. Virginia Hills)

• Our next NVSL A meet is coming up this Saturday, July 4th, at Virginia Hills. We will be starting a full hour earlier, at 8:00am, which will help us combat the heat AND hopefully make it back to the area in time for the holiday party at Pinecrest.
• Please let us know ASAP if your swimmer is available so we can begin planning! You never know when the team will call on your swimmer for a particular stroke, so please let us know if you are available.
• Don’t forget to sign up for volunteer slots, too!
• We encourage all swimmers and families to come out and cheer—even if you're not competing. Swimmers are welcome to sit with the team, and parents are encouraged to join the spectator section to help us bring the energy and support the full squad.

🏓🎾 News From the Pool—Pickleball, Tennis & Games Camp!

Pinecrest pool will be hosting a summer camp focused on fundamental skill development, strategy, match play, and overall fitness. Participants will be grouped by age and ability level to ensure an optimal learning environment, and sessions will remain active to keep younger campers engaged. This is an outside camp not affiliated with the Swim & Dive team that may appeal to our members. To register, email [email protected].

Program Details:

Dates: July 6 - August 1

Days: Monday - Friday

Time: 12:00pm - 3:00pm

Pricing:

• Pinecrest Members: $100 per week
• Non-Members: $150 per week 

Daily Structure:

• Pickleball (approx. 50 minutes): Drills, instruction, and supervised play.
• Tennis (approx. 50 minutes): Led by a high school or college-age instructor, with fun games and activities.
• Potpourri Games (approx. 50 minutes): Including Spikeball, Frisbee baseball, dodgeball, kickball, Red Rover, Red Light/Green Light, and TV tag.
